Festivals in Catbalogan City

Kaadlawan Han Samar Samar Day is held in every August 11 in Catbalogan City, it is marks the celebration of Samar’s Foundation Day. This festival is participated by the provinces cities and the twenty five municipalities and it is includes cultural dances competitions, Mutya Han Samar, Agro-fisheries trade fair and the civic military parade.

The Catbaloganon Semptemberfest is a Global celebration of Catbalogan City’s in five districts which are Salug, Likud Patag, Poblacion, Ubanon and Burak, it is held in the last Saturday of September.

Manaragat Festival is held during the annual August month long fiesta celebration August 1-31. This Manaragat Festival is a tribute to the fishermen of Catbalogan City. Local fishermen share their catch of fish and other marine products which they trade in the market. This Manaragat Festive dance is characterized by a varied movements and intricate steps of the different species of the fish and sea shells that inhabiting in Maqueda Bay and beautifully presented by dancers in exotic and colorful costumes. This festival is honor its Saint Patron St. Bartholomew, which is the local believes that this saint have maintained the richness of Maqueda Bay as the major fishing ground of the provincial of Samar.
